Driving Through The Neighbourhood

These photos are from the beginning of September, but I thought I would share them. They were taken through a car windshield/window, so hence the cow one has a dirty streak on it.
The cows are up the road from me, and so it the combined hay field. Random I know.

Oh they were shot with a Canon G10, which is a pretty wicked point and shoot camera.

The Norfolk County Fair

Yay! It's fair time, I can smell the popcorn, candy apples, and taffy already!
Actually, truth be told I just got back from my quick run through of the fair, and this year I went into the animal section. (This is an agriculture fair after all)

By the way, the "Breakfast Before & After" has won best Snapshot Collection in the fair!
And some of my B&W have won 3rd & 4th, and my extreme photoshop work has won 2nd place!

News and Whatnot

Hi.

Just to let everyone know that right now, I cannot take anymore web clients for this month, September. (I have a ton to do!)
But don't hesitate to drop me a line, or contact me.

Sad news, my one cat passed away. But, because the family's oldest cat needs a friend we got her a kitten to keep her occupied. It's been 2 weeks since the death. Is it still too soon?

Happy news - well I have a part time job to supplement my income, oh how pay cheques are such cheap thrills!

More good news, more photography jobs are lined up. Preview them as they are posted.

Harvest Moon

This is almost saddening , this morning awoke to the combine / harvester nawing away at the rye field beside the house. I saw the primers out in the tobacco fields as well. Harvest is upon us all! But that's not too too bad of a thing. fresh corn and other veggies Peaches on the tree is our backyard are almost ready!

Zapped

I don't know about you, but lately, I feel zapped for energy and just bleh. Maybe all the rain lately, (although today and yesterday were nice, but short lived) has got me down. I took this photo when the sun was out, so nice and warm. Thats what summer should be like - toasty - warm and crisp.
And I just realised that it's August already. Oh man, you know what comes next. . .
Lets not dwell on that shall we?

Business cards

So I've been looking at my business cards that I made earlier. They're okay, nothing fancy, missing some info though. So..
I've designed some 'new' cards. They are still simple, black and whites, but I'm not sure which ones to go with.
Should I bite the bullet, and go with colour ones? Add photographs, put my name, e-mail or anything else on it? Make the design thingy metalic ? So many questions, I know.

Ooh Fancy

Hey-o!
Great news, I finally got my new camera, Nikon D300. I know its not the D3x, but $9000 for a camera, eehh, too pricey for me. Yes its fancy too, but sticker shock is a horrible thing.
But my D300, is wonderful! Sure its about 5 times heavier than my D40x (don't laugh) but I enjoy having a camera that feels like a pros camera, rather than mighty little mouse.
I'm lending my bro the D40x, he's not that bad of photographer, he's actually getting the hang of the f.stops and shutter speeds.
Anywho,
I have a Summer '09 special on:
$200 gets you 1hr family portraiture session and disc of photographs, no strings attached.
That way you can print off what you want, no middle man, or woman in my case.

umm. not much else to say, I'm hoping that I can have my ad in the newspaper by next month, and then in November, (sounds dismal doesn't it..November?) I will be done a design job at the Delhi District German Home for their 60th anniversary book & invites.

Well I must thank CN rail for putting rural rail roads (say that 5 times fast) in my area back in the day.

That bridge is higher up than the trees in that area and goes over big creek, and aren't those clouds epic?

Summer Fun

So the weather outside has been warm, cool, to very hot. Well for this mini shoot it was super hot, but with a nice breeze & near-by swimming hole.

Busy bee

So I havent' posted a whole bunch of photographs, here's why. I've been shooting, painting, drawing and travelling out and about to get lots of inspiration.
